This homemade Mexican taco seasoning is great to have on hand. Used in many dishes like tacos or fajitas. Preservative-free and gluten free plus you can customize to your spicy preference.
In traditional mexican dishes, there is always a special flavor in the meal. All of that is based upon the seasoning. This DIY Mexican seasoning is perfect to tailor your tacos or fajitas to the perfect spicy level.
More importantly, since it is homemade, you will cut out the preservatives or any added unwanted ingredients. Plus it costs a fraction of the cost to make, which is perfect for any grocery budget.
Personally, I love letting my kids do the measuring! It is a perfect time to practice those fractions and math skills.
This homemade Mexican seasoning recipe is made from six ingredients.
You can control what you put into your spices without having to worry about not understanding the additives put into the store bought spices.
- Red Pepper
It is best to use fine and ground spices, so it pours well from the spice jars.
If you want a spicier kick, then add cayenne pepper to preference.
Seasoning Cost: $1.38
Must Have Tools
The best decision I made was organizing my spices in my drawer.
I spent ages trying to find the perfect spice organizer to fit my drawer space. I wanted something nice since we spent the money on a kitchen remodel. It felt like my little splurge!
Since I couldn’t find anything I liked, that fit or felt like I was willing to spend, I did the foam board spice organizer hack and couldn’t be happier. It cost me a $1! Plus it is still going strong 2 years later!
Personally, I find that having organized spices in matching containers is easier for me to maintain and they look just pretty! Our spice drawer has received many compliments!
